SAF, IES Abroad 소개
§ The Study Abroad Foundation(SAF) 는 2000년 미국 정부의 인가 하에 독립적인
이사회를 가지고 미국 인디애나 주에서 설립된 비영리 (Non-Profit) 재단입니다.
§ 1950년 시카고에서 설립된 해외 교환학생 비영리 재단인 The Institute for the
International Education of Students (IES Abroad)과 2017년에 합병하여 현재 IES
Abroad재단에 속해 있습니다.
§ IES Abroad는 미국내 가장 명망 있는 해외교류프로그램을 운영하는 비영리 교육
재단이며, 오늘날 75개의 IES Abroad 오피스에서 250개 이상의 회원 대학들과 함께
350개 이상의 프로그램을 운영 중입니다.
§ 매년 10,000 명 정도의 IES Abroad 회원 미국대학교 학생들이 IES Abroad를 통해 해외
교류, 해외인턴십 프로그램에 참여하고 있습니다.
§ 매년 약 700명의 SAF China, Japan, Korea 학생들이 SAF를 통해 수학하고 있습니다.
§ 2000년부터 2022년까지 약 13,500명의 중국, 일본, 한국 학생들이 SAF를 통해

Program Outline:
IES Abroad’s mission is simple: to provide students with the best study abroad program possible—
which includes the highest quality academic and cultural experiences. In this four-week program,
students will explore how art and architecture have affected urban development, life, and culture in
Paris, France and how museums preserve, develop, study, and display their collections for the benefit
of the public. Coursework will integrate class time with course-related trips to art and cultural
management institutions, including visits to well-known museums such as the Louvre and Musée
d’Orsay.

1) AH 215 History of Paris in Art and
Architecture
이 수업은 다음의 주요 단계를 추적합니다: 예술과 건축을 통한
파리시의 진화. 특히 현재 도시 형태와 형식에 기반을 세운
Second Empire와 19세기 Haussmann 공작이 진행한 주요
도시계획을 집중적으로 공부합니다.
학생들은 도시의 현대화와 Modernity뿐만 아니라 도시 계획과
관련된 건축, 새로운 파리의 생활 양식에 대해 배웁니다. 각각의
스타일 형태와 형식은 주요 예술 운동과 맥락을 같이 함을
배웁니다.
예술과 건축을 통한 파리시의 진화와 역사를 공부하기 위해,
학생들은 루브르 박물관과 Musée d’Art Moderne같은 가장
유명한 박물관들을 방문할 것입니다.
또한 학생들은 현대 예술과 건축물 뿐만 아니라 인상파
화가들에 의해 묘사된 미술품들을 통해 파리에 대해
발견합니다.

Post-Impressionism
이 수업은 구성, 색상 및 스타일과 같은 인상파 운동의 핵심
요소에 중점을 두면서, 회화의 진화라는 개념에 바탕을 두고
인상파의 기원 및 유산에 대한 심층 연구 및 회화적
조사(pictorial survey)방법을 제공합니다.

후계자들의 작품을 통한 인상주의의 미적 진화에 대한 연구

인상파 운동이 20세기 예술에 미친 영향과 오늘날의

사용하여 유산을 재확인 하는 방식에 관한 연구

학생들은 다음 예술가들의 작품을 공부합니다: 쿠르베,
밀레, 터너, 마네, 모네, 르누아르, 드가, 쇠라, 세잔, 그리고
고갱.
수업은 슬라이드로 설명하는 강의와 그룹 토론으로
구성됩니다. 루브르 박물관, 오르세 미술관, 로댕 미술관 등
