Objectives of Education

As Korea's only university department, it fosters heritage management experts with comprehensive and systematic knowledge and practical skills for heritage management in the public and private sectors, including policies and planning skills necessary for creative inheritance and development of traditional culture and preservation and utilization of heritage.

Curriculum

  • Heritage Management Studies consists of two core pillars: Heritage Policy and Heritage Management. These pillars are further divided into detailed subfields: Law & Administration, Management Studies, Museum Studies, and Heritage Utilization.
  • Curriculum-related subjects are structured around the intersection of heritage policy and management, while utilization-focused subjects were developed and systematically organized during the 2017 and 2022 curriculum reforms.
  • Strengthen education on social science analysis techniques such as writing graduation papers and social research methods to strengthen practical application of professional knowledge.
    • Strengthening Education in Social Science Analysis Techniques: Cultivating empirical research capabilities including statistical analysis, data visualization, and qualitative/quantitative research methodologies, Hands-on training in data analysis using SPSS programs
    • Practical Application Competencies: Conducting field problem-solving projects, Evaluating heritage policies, Developing regional heritage utilization plans

Completion Status of Field Training Semester Program (2015-2024) A total of 80 students have successfully completed the program across academic years, with participation spanning from 2015 to 2024
