Objectives of Education

As Korea's only university department, it fosters cultural property management experts with comprehensive and systematic knowledge and practical skills for cultural property management in the public and private sectors, including policies and planning skills necessary for creative inheritance and development of traditional culture and preservation and utilization of cultural properties.

Curriculum

  • Cultural Properties Management Studies consists of two pillars: cultural heritage policy (administration) and cultural heritage management. Curriculum-related subjects were formed as an intersection of cultural heritage policy and management, and some content-related subjects were developed and organized in the 2017 curriculum reform.
  • Strengthen education on social science analysis techniques such as writing graduation papers and social research methods to strengthen practical application of professional knowledge.
  • Development of curriculum, practical and practical courses that can be linked to field and employment.
    • Current status of students who have completed the field training semester system: A total of 36 students, including 2 in 2011, 5 in 2013, 10 in 2014, 4 in 2015, 6 in 2016, and 9 in 2017
    • The practical rate of courses opened in the Department of Cultural Properties Management in 2017 was 7 out of 36 subjects, 19.4%
